Krafton launches a new subsidiary, inZOI Studio, to refuel the simulated life track
Krafton announced today that it has established a new subsidiary, "inZOI Studio", and appointed Kim Hyung-joon, President of inZOI, as Chief Executive Officer.
According to the announcement, the subsidiary was set up to strengthen the independence of project development so that it can focus on the production of games. Allegedly, their goal is to be the best life simulation studio in the world. The establishment of inZOI Studio also means that the number of creative studios under Krafton has increased to 14. These include PUBG Studios, Bluehole Studios, RisingWings, Striking Distance, Dreamotion, and the recently acquired Tango Gameworks, among others. inZOI will be available in Early Access on Steam on March 28, 2025.
According to Krafton's past practice, if a product is focused enough, or performs well enough, then it is very likely to be upgraded to a subsidiary, such as the former PUBG.
Kim Hyung-joon said that the team will go all out to develop "inZOI" to achieve the goal of early access in March next year, and will continue to communicate with users around the world and lead new changes.
Previously, Krafton's studio exposed the life simulation game "inZOI", which caused a huge sensation around the world. The outside world's impression of Krafton mainly comes from "PUBG" and MMORPG, and this "Korean version of The Sims" is quite different from the previous company's image. In addition, there are few successful experiences in the life simulation track, and if you leave aside Animal Crossing and a number of mobile games launched in China, the real life simulation game in the strict sense of the word is EA's "The Sims" series.
In an interview with the media, Kim Hyung-joon revealed his reason for making "inZOI": Kim Hyung-joon has 10 years of experience in Sims games and loves the series. He thinks it would be fun to be involved in the creation of game content as a player. Secondly, there are not many games in this genre, and it makes perfect sense to offer players new options outside of the Sims series.
According to his media interview, it took Kim Hyung-joon six months to complete the beta version, but the company is still unsure about this version. Then they decided to give the demo to the influencer for testing and exposure on G-Star in South Korea, and Krafton also decided to continue to increase the number in the voice of players.
Unlike similar games, inZOI plans to use artificial intelligence technology - the research results of artificial intelligence technology from Krafton. Players can interact with NPCs equipped with AI models and participate in AI-constructed city life.
