According to the report, Tencent's Q3 game business revenue was 51.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%.
Among them, the revenue of the domestic market increased by 14% year-on-year to 37.3 billion yuan, mainly driven by games such as "Valorant", "Honor of Kings", "Peace Elite" and "Dungeons and Warriors: Origins".
According to the financial report, the growth of the game business in the third quarter was due to the steady performance of Evergreen Games in the world and the contribution of new games with Evergreen potential. At the same time, the financial report further subdivides evergreen games into three categories: flagship evergreen, other evergreen games and new games with evergreen potential.
Among them, "Glory of Kings" and "Peace Elite" are flagship evergreen games. "Honor of Kings" announced at its recent ninth anniversary that its daily active users have exceeded 100 million again; Sensor Tower data also shows that the turnover of "Peace Elite" in September increased by 24% year-on-year.
In terms of other evergreen games, the average number of daily active users of the mobile game "Naruto" and "Valorant" in Q3 reached a new high; Among the products with evergreen gaming potential, "Operation Delta" performed well, with the number of registered users exceeding 25 million in the first week, and ranked in the top 5 of the Internet café game hot list in October in the first month of its launch, second only to Valorant and "Crossfire" in the shooter category.
In addition, Tencent's game revenue in the international market increased by 9% year-on-year to 14.5 billion yuan, mainly due to the performance of games such as "PUBG MOBILE" and "Brawl Stars".
According to Sensor Tower, Supercell's Brawl Stars and Squad Busters games performed better, driving Supercell's turnover growth of 95% year-over-year in the third quarter.

In terms of costs, Tencent's sales and marketing expenses in Q3 increased by 19% year-on-year to 9.4 billion yuan, mainly due to the increased promotion of new games in the local and international markets, which accounted for 6% of Tencent's total revenue during the period, compared with 5% in the same period last year.
In terms of manpower, as of September 30, 2024, Tencent Group had 108823 employees, an increase of 3,514 over the same period last year. Total compensation costs for the three months of the period were $29.6 billion, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.5%.
